Farm History Walk and Talk at Abrams Sandy Mush Farm

Farm History Walk and Talk w/ picnic on Abrams Sandy Mush Farm

Saturday, June 11th, 11-1:00pm

Pack a picnic!

Bert Abrams and Vance Garrett were born in Sandy Mush and are local historians who know the history and the stories of this valley well.  They will lead a short one hour walk and talk around the farm and up to a nice knoll with scenic views of Sandy Mush valley and the surrounding mountains where you can enjoy your picnic.

Pack your picnic, bring your camera and your curiosity and enjoy this fun, family farm day.  This is a working farm; do not bring dogs.  We will hike through a cow pasture so please wear appropriate shoes.

Parking will be at 8 Willow Creek Rd., home of Marlow Gates’s Friendswood Brooms Workshop.   http://www.friendswoodbrooms.com/contact.html

You may park here and then walk across Big Sandy Mush Rd. to the Abrams farm.  Plan on taking a look inside the old 1896 General Store that Marlow uses for his broom shop.
